It’s a tender exploration through the tough realities of getting older, losing friends, and constantly feeling disconnected, all while trying to observe the beauty and fierceness in finding your own worth. Inspired by the disorientation caused by life, Hallo’s upcoming debut album, Unsaved, considers the struggles of being used, disowned, and shamed. Hallo (pronounced Hollow) is a cozy indie rock band that hails from the weird and hot-as-hell city of Austin, Texas. I love Tiana's vocal countenance, the character of her voice. I mean I thought of artists as diverse as Loretta Lynn, Sharon Van Etten, Deep Sea Diver, Aimee Mann, The Pretenders while listening. You could call this sound western noir and it does feel like a cross generational garden rock-esque thing. The sound is a collision of indie rock, alt country, folk, dream pop with a heightened sense of storytelling centered around the evocative songwriting of Tiana Stuart (rhythm guitar and vocals) and wrapped up in bruises and bows by Behn Stuart (drums), Aaron Sekula (bass), and Jason Morris (lead guitar). From the onset and throughout you see that movie. "Cold Magic" by Hallo out of Austin, Texas does all of the latter.

In the least, a song acts as a pleasant soundtrack in the background but at best it transports you, pushes emotional buttons because of it's poetic story set to melody, creates a movie in your head. "Why do I miss a mistake? Like a love-sick heartstring caught on the wrong vein."
